Shame on Southold Town and LIPA, Tree Killers!

This is the story of an atrocity. People in the country turning the country into a suburban wasteland. The chainsaws, payloaders and crews of workers are all being paid for by taxpayers.

Unfortunately the story of how this tree was “removed” is not an isolated incident. During the Russell administration there have been a series of disturbing acts by Southold Town which are not only destructive of our neighborhoods and costly to taxpayers, they prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to fund acts which protect and promote the public interest.

And then there are the failures to act. For example, Southold Town board recently voted 3-3, failing to pass a Resolution to install a new stop sign. The 3 who voted in favor stated they were following the will of the majority. The 3 who voted against stated they did not think a stop sign was needed. Not one Town boardmember based their vote on the public health safety and welfare. Not one Town boardmember offered any proposal to serve the purpose of highway safety without a stop sign.
